Vision4Lee - Youth Facilities and PreSchool Projects
As a result of the MTI Health Check and Public consultation process the V4L group identified that the key areas were, provision of Youth Facilities and Preschools. Following consultation with HCC Youth Service staff and the Senior Development Officer (Childcare) Early Education and Childcare Unit two projects have been developed.
In respect of the Preschool project, a facility in the Elmore area of Lee has been identified that is available for 10 sessions a week, is very suitable and requires only a minimum of work to be carried internally and some work to create an outside secure play area. Ongoing discussions are taking placed and it is expected that the Preschool will be available from April 2008.
The Focus Youth Club facility is located at the Lee Junior School site. The building used has a limited life and subject to 3 monthly inspections by HCC Estates Department. The HCYS long term plan is to reprovide this facility, site yet to be identified and Vision4Lee will be supporting this project by organising funding raising events in order that a bid can be made to SEEDA/HCC for Match Funding.
